Coastal Hazard Setback Delineations
Coastal and fluvial hazard assessments both require estimations of erosion rates and erosion setbacks, however the processes driving erosion on shorelines have their own unique qualities. Wave driven erosion and near shore sediment transport need to be understood in order to develop reliable estimates of shoreline erosion rates. We have a unique understanding of erosion on cohesive shorelines around the Great Lakes having produced a cohesive shoreline erosion model for use by the International Joint Commission. We are also experienced with dynamic beach hazards and can model shoreline response to storm events.
