Sedimentological Studies
A thorough understanding of the evolution of geomorphological features including sediment transport pathways is aided by sedimentological studies. These include analysis of sediments collected in rivers and along shorelines to infer sediment source and determine rates of transport. Sediment cores can be used to determine the long-term evolution, as well as the infilling rates of features such as coastal marshes and deltas. This technique has also been employed in stormwater management facilities. Geomorphic Solutions has the ability to collect cores in ponds, rivers and marshes by either using floating platforms or by winter coring.
